Flashes of Hope | nonprofit work

June 26, 2012

Flashes of Hope is a really special organization to be involved with.  Their mission is to photograph children touched by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, to help change the way they see themselves while also raising money for cancer research.  I was first contacted by flashes of hope a few years ago – this was our second shoot for the organization.  The shoots are always a little chaotic – we head out to camp catch a rainbow and basically try and wrangle kids as they’re playing.  We only get a couple of minutes with each child, so it’s always a fun challenge to create a meaningful portrait.  We worked with a really great group of kids this year and had a fun afternoon!  Here’s a little ‘mashup’ of some of my favorites.  Until next year!
