I’ll be honest – I was a little bit nervous for this wedding. this was one of the biggest weddings I’ve ever photographed (in terms of size of wedding party and number of guests), so I knew there was going to be a LOT going on! Plus, the weather was not looking good….
BUT the wedding gods smiled upon me and it was a great day. Sam and Agatha’s friends and family were the nicest group I could have hoped to work with, all of their vendors were spot-on, and we wound up with a gorgeous day!
Here’s some of my favorites:
Getting ready bright and early at Agatha’s house
BIG thanks to the delightful Tamara from
Silver Thumb, who pitched in to shoot the guys in the morning – here’s a couple of hers I really like
and, onto the ceremony at Holy Family, right downtown by Greektown
en route downtown with the wedding party
my biggest wedding party to date – 12 attendants each!
super-cute flower girl
a quick jaunt to belle isle
The reception was held at the
Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township – a beautiful, newly renovated facility. Some reception details (floral arrangements by Venetian Flowers)
another view of that cake! Agatha’s dad owns
Vito’s Bakery, so an impressive cake was all but guaranteed – and don’t even get me started on the sweet table – unbelievable!!
one of my fave wedding bands,
Intrigue, tore it UP! It’s always a treat to see these guys preform – who else can go from Italian Opera to Lady Gaga so seamlessly!?
one of my favorite parts of every wedding I shoot is towards the end of the reception – the cake is cut, the “official” dances are done, and everyone is GETTING DOWN! This is such a fun time for me as a photographer – this late in the day, most everyone is used to me and camera, so I can really get out there, mix with the crowd, and capture fun candid moments like these
this little guy was wiped out (i know just how he felt!)
Sam and Agatha – enjoy this little peek at your wedding photos! Thanks to you and your families for being so wonderful to work with – I hope you had FUN and are enjoying Hawaii!
Abby – those are amazing photos. The clouds at belle isle sure did cooperate nicely. 🙂 And wow – 28 people in a wedding party?! That’s pretty amazing!
Great job Abby. . . you rock!!
