I feel so lucky to be able to say "I love my job" and mean it! I began my photography career as an undergrad at the University of Michigan, shooting for the student paper. I was hooked instantly, and knew I had found my life's work. Initially I had visions of traipsing through war zones as a photojournalist, but, much to my parents' relief, found my niche shooting weddings, portraits, and other events.

I learned from some of the best in the field before starting my own studio in 2006, and have quickly become one of the area's most sought-after photographers.  My work is featured regularly in the industry's leading magazines and blogs, and I have been honored to win some prestigious awards - including PDN's 'top knots,' The Knot Magazine's 'Best of,' an editor's choice award from Bride's Michigan, and Wedding Wire's 'Bride's Choice' award three years running.

I love weddings and other big events - honestly, I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather be photographing. I'm a sucker for the ritual, the emotion, and moments, moments, moments (really - the moments are what it's all about!).  If you are looking for an authentic collection of storytelling images, and the work you see here speaks to you, than we may be a good fit.  I do my best work when given a degree of creative freedom, so if you have a pages-long “must-take” shot list, or a pinterest board full of images you want to replicate, than chances are I am not the right photographer for you.  Hopefully this doesn’t make me sounds like a pretentious ‘artiste‘ - I just think it’s important for people who hire me to have a clear understanding of how I work and what kind of imagery they can expect ;-)

Your wedding photographs are a big deal.  You put so much into planning your day, and it goes by FAST.  The pictures are what you’ll have left when it’s all said and done.  Don’t settle.
