This is the 4th Bat Mitzvah I've photographed for this awesome family! It's so fun watching this group of cousins grow up ;-)
It actually wasn't too long ago we shot big sis Danielle's Bat Mitzvah - and last Saturday it was Mia's turn!

What an amazing celebration this was!! It was really a treat to photograph Grant's Bar Mitzvah - check out these pics, and you'll see why!
I know I say it every time (and it's always true!!) - but DeeDee Hoffman and her team REALLY blew this one out of the park. I always know a party is going to look incredible when I am working with them!

Havdalah service at Temple Israel, including a yummy Shabbat dinner catered by Matt Prentice.
And onto the party: This was my first time shooting at the Argonaut Building, and it was a very cool venue
overview of the room: (told ya it was pretty sweet!)
The metal silhouettes were hung from the ceiling - created from actual photos I took of Grant!
Just don't tell him he looks like Justin Beiber ;-)
The food was just outstanding - loved all the signs they created. The sushi was my fave!

Just got in this incredible album, and I am just *floored* by how gorgeous it is!!
This has to be one of my favorite books to date - Carli gave me complete artistic freedom to design an art book for her and Spence, and really embraced the clean and modern aesthetic that I adore in book design. Lots of BIG images, and plenty of negative space as well - I see so many clients fall into the "trap" of feeling like they need to cram every last aunt, uncle cousin, friend, etc into their book - which can really compromise the design. I'm always excited when someone "gets it" and is open to a more storytelling approach.

So many charming, colorful details - their reception was an intimate dinner party of one of my fave Ann Arbor places, Cafe Zola.
They hung canvases from their engagement session on the wall in place of Zola's regular art - very cool!
