As soon as I met Lisa and stepped foot inside her delightful studio, I knew I wanted to share her with my blog readers!

Her brainchild, Pot and Box is a full-service container gardening and floral design studio in Ann Arbor (not too far from me, actually!).  Her space is SO charming, and full of whimsical little touches.  I could hang out there all day.  Pot and Box is available for fresh flower delivery, containers, flower landscapes, custom projects (she's helping me green up my studio a bit) - and YES, she does weddings!

In fact, Lisa is one of the only wedding florists I know of who emphasizes sustainability, and works almost exclusively with local flowers - something I think is pretty amazing.  She is currently booking weddings for the 2010 season - so give her a buzz if you are looking for a florist!

this next room is actually available for small events!  showers, parties, art shows, whatever.  It's really a great space - so open and airy.  Lisa also holds classes here for those looking to work on their green thumbs

here's a little collage - like I said, this place is just bursting with loveliness!

and here's the lady herself (don't kill me for posting this Lisa - you are adorable!!)

Pot and Box is right downtown Ann Arbor, at 220 Felch, and is open tuesday-friday, 11-6, saturday 12-3, and by appointment.  Stop by and check it out for yourself!

Just got in megan and matt's beautiful album and I am in LOOOVVVEEE.  Seriously kicking myself for not ordering a copy for a studio sample.

This is finao's new "krumble" material.  Loving it!  Finao are one of my favorites of the album binders I work with - and they're a Michigan-based business, which is rad.

and here's a closer look at that cover material.  Really liking this one!  It has a lot of character and a nice, vintage feel to it.

matt and megan - this baby is on it's way to you!  I know you'll love it ;-)

Oh hey - in other news, my photos were on the TV today!  I've been meaning to do a blog post about this cool contest I'm a part of - but in the meantime, check out this video! (for some reason I can't embed it, boo!).

Kristin and Tony have what has got to be the best ever "how'd you meet?" story.  They met while Kristin was on vacation in Costa Rica - and Tony was her tour guide!  A whirlwind romance ensued, Tony moved to the US, and now they're getting married!  Is that not the stuff of romance novels?!

Anyhow - we met up at the Ren Cen Marriott in downtown Detroit last week for our e-shoot.  Their wedding will be in the Ambassador Ballroom there and I am so excited - it's an amazing venue right at the feet of the riverwalk.

Here's a few favorites:

The Ren Cen is a really beautiful and interesting building, and there are some cool interior spaces that we took advantage of since it was so chilly (what is up with this crazy weather lately!).

So, Kristin is living in Boston right now, but she's a Detroit gal at heart - which is why I know she's going to LOVE this next one.  (well, I also know she's going to love it because I showed it to her on the back of my camera, and she was stoked.  but anyways!):

Thanks Kristin and Tony for a great shoot!  Looking forward to your wedding next month!

I'm am SO happy that wedding season is (almost!) here.  Paul and Vicky were my first e-shoot in what feels like forever, and I was just so pleased to be shaking off the winter and shooting.  And what a lovely couple to begin the season with.  Not only are they gorgeous and totally photogenic - but they are so sweet and in-love.  Shooting them was a breeze.

Both are U of M alums, so we took a little walking tour of some of their favorite spots on campus

I am beyond excited to be hosting this upcoming workshop with JVS and Annie.  These two know their speedlights inside and out, and are masters of using small flash units to add depth and drama to images.

Here's a few photos I snagged from their off-camera-flash blog (which is chock full of great information):

The workshop is scheduled for April 19th, and will be a full, 12-hour day of learning and shooting (and eating!).  All participants will get a 30-page lighting pdf that contains detailed diagrams and gear lists.  Class size is capped at 15, which means it will be a nice, intimate group.  I think we're about halfway full right now - so grab your seat soon!  This is currently their only midwest stop.
