plain white wedding shoes?  soooo 2006.  kidding!  But it has been such fun to see all the funky shoes my brides have rocked in the past couple years.  Here's a little retrospective:

Oh my! So Many amazing shoes! I'm partial to all the blue ones...blue being my fave color and all, but those green ones are pretty close second. Loves me some great shoes full of personality! Can't wait to see what's in store for you this year!

We know what Lynn can do if she quits her day job. You look fabulous. The pictures are beautiful. If you didn't have your winter coats on I would think it was warm in Chicago.

A photographer friend of mine emailed this to me, and it almost made me cry! Am I a total sap or what ;-)

It's a really powerful piece, and communicates perfectly why photography is so important.

wouldn't ya know it, I've always preferred fuji to kodak - but damn, this is good advertising! ;-)

enjoy!

lots of good stuff happening this week!  First, my spankin' new website is almost here!  I'm currently getting the servers switched over, so www.abbyrosephoto.com may actually be down for a day or so - but no worries, it's just cause the new site is uploading.  here's a sneak peek:

screenshot.jpg
It's got a nice, clean interface - nothing dramatically different from my last site - but lots of lovely new images!  And some old favorites have made the trip over, too ;-)  I'm putting the finishing touches on the galleries, and working out some music liscensing details (gotta have my jams!) - but it'll be live soon!

I also placed a bunch of winning images in the ISPWP winter contest.  It was the only contest I had time to enter this year, so I was psyched to see so many make the top ten.  These contests are always pretty subjective, but it's always nice to get recognition from peers.  Here's just a couple of my winners -

this shot from Michele's bridal session took 4th in the 'bride portrait' category:  I'm actually thinking of a big metallic canvas of this for the studio
IMG_5932T.jpgfrom Jen + Mike's wedding - placed 4th in the 'wedding party' category (jen + mike - almost done with your album!!)   hetu-391.jpg
will + alyssa - 5th place in 'all about light'.  I kinda cleaned up in this category - my images placed 5th, 6th and 7th - yahoo!
northrop-279.jpg
anny + francisco - i just adore this image - it placed 6th in 'reception - dancing' 013.jpg
OK, enough tooting my own horn ;-)  But there's some seriously amazing work in the winning galleries - check them out here if you feel like some wedding eye candy.

I also found out this week that i've been selected to recieve a 'bride's choice' award from weddingwire.com.  Apparently, I "demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility".  Hey, i'll take it!

BCA-logo.gif weddingwire is actually a pretty cool site - kind of like a facebook for the world of wedding vendors.  thanks to all my clients who have left reviews for me!  If you haven't yet and have a moment, you can do so by clicking below

have a great weekend everyone!

Been getting in a ton of albums lately!  thought I'd share a few.

Here's some pics of Ryan + Andrea's book.  They opted for the modern album, with an ivory cover featuring a cameo photo.IMG_2789.jpg IMG_2790.jpg
here's a peek at some of my favorite spreads...
the 'getting ready' part of the day always yields fantastic storytelling images

Also recently got in Renee and Keith's book.  They opted for the 'Luxe', which is a really cool, customizable album.
They chose the photofront cover, paired with a black leather
IMG_2800.jpg
What makes this album so special is the ability to combine classic, fine-art matted pages with modern, coffee-table style pages.

IMG_2804.jpg
It's a completely custom album, so you can get pretty creative with the layouts!
IMG_2806.jpg
I love these itty-bitty matted pics!

Seems like I'm getting in a book every other day!  I'll be sure to share some more as they come ;-)

mark + meghann tied the knot at Le Kliff, an amazing restaurant that sits, literally, on the edge of a cliff - couldn't ask for a better view!

her dress was just gorgeous and fit her *perfectly*

mark + meghann - hope you enjoyed this preview!  i cannot thank you both enough for bringing me along and trusting me to shoot this day for you.  you guys were so easygoing and great to work with - tommy and i both felt like you treated us as guests.  we had an absolute blast hanging out with you and everyone else at Barcelo (i miss my magic bracelet!).

hope all is well and you are getting settled into your new digs in Seattle!

once again, i love them all :] i don't know if you noticed, but in the series of meghann and mark dancing, the arm of the mariachi band player kind of makes a white heart in between the photos. cool!

So I'm going a little out of order here ;-)

I still have to blog the wedding, but I was processing this session today, and just had to share a few.

First off, I've got to give props to Mark for even doing this shoot - he was not feeling well at all (a week in Mexico'll do that to ya!) - but, he didn't want want to let down his lady (or his photographer!), and was such a trooper ;-)  Thanks Mark!  Hope seeing these images make it all worthwhile!IMG_0196T.jpg

I feel I should add a note to future bride's who are considering TTD with Abby - granted my wedding dress wasn't bright white, but it was an expensive fabric...and it looks as good as new after sitting in the sand and ocean! Apparently salt water is recommended for 'cleaning' wedding gowns so I let it air dry, shook out the sand, and you can't even tell it was in the Pacific! My daughter still could wear it in her wedding - although I'm still pretty sure if I have a daughter she won't want to...
