vacation?  in the middle of wedding season!?  that's right folks!  I'm headed out bright and early tomorrow to spend the week getting some (much needed!) R&R!  My mom and me are having a girls getaway at canyon ranch!  anyone who knows me knows what a spa junkie I am.  there are few things I enjoy more than getting pampered - and canyon ranch is pretty much the mecca of spas - I am beyond excited!  I'll be spending the week getting ridiculously indulgent treatments like body thermal wraps and energy renewal therapy ;-)

so - this means I will be less reachable than usual this Monday through Friday.  I will have my phone and laptop on me, so don't hesitate to get in touch - just know it may take me a bit to get back to ya.  but fear not - those of you still waiting for your slideshows/proofs/albums/etc - hang in there!  i'll return totally refreshed and ready to dive back in!

thank you to ALL my fantastic clients for their patience and understanding!

oh sweet, sweet whirlpool duet...you bring me such joy with your sleek design and steam refresh setting....

As you can see, operation 'pimp my laundry room' is well underway!  We decided to paint a bright primary blue - because, well, we can ;-)  We've been so indecisive with colors for the main areas of the house, it was nice to just make a choice and GO!
IMG_0873.jpg
and look!  We *finally* got a table!  After (i kid you not) 7 months of looking and saving, we decided on this bent plywood beauty from bludot.  I *love* it!!
IMG_0880.jpg
now we just need to find some chairs that are worthy ;-)
IMG_0881.jpg
I'm leaning towards one of these bright yellows for the dining room walls - maybe with one grey accent wall.  I'm loving yellow and grey together these days!

thoughts?  ideas?  anyone feel like playing interior designer with me?  ;-)

We obviously LOVE the idea of contrasting colors in the house! Especially opposite walls! Great idea! I always have wanted to do a room all one color. then have an eye level stripe of a different color all the way around. That could work for ya!

I met Liz and Douglas awhile back while they were in town to show off their gorgeous new baby girl (they live overseas).

We got together with some of their family in the arb while the peonies were in full bloom - what a gorgeous spot for some photos.

Here's a few of my faves from our session

How cute is she?!

Just got in these delicious cards that I designed for Paul and Kendra.  I wish more couples took advantage of this - they're so fun, and my inner design-nerd gets to come out and play!

Check 'em out!IMG_0863.jpg

It's been such fun getting to know these two over the past couple of months!  I shot Sara's sister Amanda's wedding in June, and have done portraits for her other sister Kate's family.  Those who've been in my studio know her adorable niece Taylor Rose as the cutie from one of the huge canvases that graces the wall.

Anyhow - it's finally their turn!  I was stoked when Sara and Alex suggested U of M's North Campus as a location.  I spent lots of time up there as an undergrad in the art school - but hadn't been up that way in forever!  It's a gorgeous spot, full of first-class photo opportunities (the campus was designed by mid-century modern design icon Eero Saarinen)...

Without further ado - some photos!!

How cute are they ;-)

Linden and Fed are getting married in Argentina later this year.  Sadly, I can neither attend or photograph what is sure to be a ridiculously awesome wedding (I'd already been commissioned for the date by the time their plans came together...sigh...).

But these invites are so fun I thought I'd share with my lovely blog readers ;-)

They're designed by the talented Lisa Tse of inkbox designs.  She has some wicked-cool stuff in her portfolio!  Definitely check her out if you're looking to do something truly special with the printed materials for your wedding.

Stephanie and Nick were married Saturday, and what a wedding it was - that dress!  those shoes!  Everything was simply gorgeous.
Borgquist-0001.jpg
Dwayne from Todd's Room did fantastic makeup, and a team of stylists from Luigi Bruni created Stephanie's stunning updo.  I forget who made her gorgeous custom headband - but I'll post a link as soon as I find out!

Welcome to my new blog!  Neat, isn't?  I really wanted something clean and uncluttered, that focused on the pictues.  I am so pleased with this new design (by the good people at into the darkroom).  I still can't believe how HUGE the photos are!  The interface is so much more intuitive - and it's way easier to leave comments, which always make my day ;-)

Certain areas are still 'under construction' so keep checking in for fun new features - but the basics are in place - so here we go!!  Remember to update your bookmarks and RSS feeds so you can follow along.

First up are Brad and Dana, who are getting married in just a little over a month.  We met up recently for an engagement session - I'm so excited to feature them here!  Their wedding is going to ROCK!
